And the tour begins...DAY 1

Hello all you beautiful friends!

This is Danielle, Mike and Suzanne's daughter, co-founder of Asmi, and your guest blogger for the next 10 days.  Thanks to the iPhone, my mom'll be emailing me entries for her blog, and I'll be posting them each day.

I want to start by thanking you all for you generous and thoughtful donations to Asmi International.  To date, Team Asmi has raised $4,573!  AMAZING.  None of this would have been possible without you!  Well, you... and my fearless parents.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Keep up with Team Asmi for the next 10 days by following this blog or just checking into Suzanne's Facebook account each day and clicking on the link.  Plus, each day I will link an old blog post of Suzanne's, in case you haven't read them from the beginning.  I will do my best to make sure you hear it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Here's to the adventure of a lifetime!

lovelovelove,
Danielle

DAY 1 of the Asmi California Coastal Tour
Golden Gate Bridge, SF to Half Moon Bay (32 miles)

we made it to half moon bay!  started at the golden gate bridge, rode around the outskirts of San Francisco & headed down the coast.  we had expected fog & overcast but it was a beautiful sunny day - not too warm but windy ( I thought the wind blew north to south?). no complaints though as the scenery was gorgeous.  had our first meal at the most beautiful taco bell I've ever seen:  right on the beach with miles of sand in each direction.

leaving Pacifica, we hit a nasty hill with no shoulder, blind curves, & big trucks - it was terrifying!  I discovered that fear is a great motivator & got up that hill as fast as I could.  once we passed that area, the ride was terrific with long flat stretches & the most amazing bike path that went along the beach & through sand dunes.  we're just about to head out to meet our friends mike & Mary for a sunset dinner at the harbor. doesn't get much better than this!
